Airbrush, or spray tanning use solutions containing an ingredient called DHA. DHA is the product that works with the top layer of your skin to create a tan. Most solutions also contain a bronzer. A bronzer is what gives you that instant gratifcation, that immediate tan. This is also the brown that goes down the drain when you take your first shower. The DHA is the component that gives you that lasting glow.
First of all, make sure to provide us enough space to pop open our spray tanning tent in an area near electrical outlets and with plenty of light. We use a fan to circumvent any spray that gets away from the tent, and we use plenty of towels for ground coverage outside of the tent.
The session will take approximately twenty to thirty minutes including set up and take down.
Spray tans are not just about the technician and the solution, but are a lot about preparation and maintenance.
In order to achieve your best tan you should:
1. Take care of all waxing and shaving 24 hrs before your appointment.
2. Prior to your session, exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! This makes sure you have a fresh layer of skin ready and a longer lasting tan.
3. Avoid wearing any lotions, deodorants, perfumes, and makeup. These can interact or interfere with your tan.
After your session, make sure to avoid getting wet for ideally 12hrs, but at least 8. When you take your first shower, use warm not hot water, and avoiding scrubbing with harsh soaps or washes.
Also, try to avoid rubbing when dryng off.
Moisturize! Use lotions that don't contain any alcohols, these will dry out your skin.
